Ram announces the 2016 Ram 1500 Yellow Rose of Texas edition image

The specialty manufacturer has recently taken the wraps off its new 1500 Yellow Rose of Texas Edition.

The special series has been nicknamed after the American folk song that became famous back in 1955 thanks to Mitch Miller, and the Yellow Rose of Texas Edition is coming to life as a Ram 1500 Lone Star but with an exclusive Crew Cab configuration and a Stinger Yellow exterior hue. Other details haven’t been mentioned by Ram but since we know the model starts as a 1500 Lone Star we can tell you it features chrome bumpers, tinted rear windows, LED bed lights, fog lights and 20-inch aluminum chrome clad wheels. Inside the cabin the future owners of the 1500 Yellow Rose of Texas Edition will be met by a 10-way power driver’s seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power windows / locks, air conditioning, an auto dimming rearview mirror, a six-speaker audio system, and a Uconnect infotainment system with an 8.4-inch display.

Motivation comes courtesy of a 3.6-liter V6 engine that brings to the party 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. If anyone feels it will be underpowered other options can be selected: the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque or if diesel is the choice there’s the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 packing 240 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. By the way, the Ram 1500 Yellow Rose of Texas Edition is scheduled to hit dealerships in April and the only owners of the model wile b those coming to Texas to buy it.
