The North American based automotive giant Chrysler Group LLC has recently announced its plans to introduce the 2014 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel.
According to the car manufacturer, the 2014 Ram 1500 will get a diesel version which will go on sale later on this year. The model in question will be named the 2014 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel and it will come with a small displacement engine sourced from VM Motori.
“Truck owners have been emphatically asking for it, and Ram will be the only manufacturer to offer a diesel powertrain in the half-ton segment with the 2014 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel. The half-ton truck market is incredibly competitive, and although we’re honored the Ram 1500 has received a number of prestigious awards, we cannot rest on what we have accomplished, we must keep pushing”, said the Ram Truck brand and Chrysler de Mexico president and CEO, Fred Diaz.
Even if the 2014 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel has been officially announced, the company didn’t release any specifications on it. However, details are saying that the new diesel version of the Ram 1500 will get a 3.0 liter unit under its hood, which should be mated to an eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. Additional details on the model are limited for the moment and will be announced in the third quarter of this year, when the model will go on sale across the U.S.
