Ram has recently announced its plans to introduce a rebadged version of the Fiat Ducato on the North American auto market sometimes next year.
The partnership between Chrysler Group LLC and the Fiat Group is becoming tighter and the latest model to be shared by the two companies is actually a utility van, very popular on the Old Continent, named the Fiat Ducato. According to the two car manufacturers, the Fiat Ducato will be renamed the Ram ProMaster and besides the small exterior and interior tweaks, the model will get Ram badges on its body and it will go on sale in the United States in the third quarter of 2013.
“The Ram ProMaster further strengthens our commercial lineup, offering a full line of work trucks and vans. As the Ram Truck Brand continues to gain share and grow sales in the retail truck market, we will be just as aggressive in our goal to be a commercial truck market leader”, said the president and CEO of Ram Truck Brand and Chrysler de Mexico, Fred Diaz.
The Ram ProMaster is expected to adopt a familiar styling which will be applied mostly to its exterior design but what is mostly interesting on the model is that it will get a revised engine lineup. Additional details on the Ram ProMaster will be announced close to its launch, which has been scheduled for the third quarter of next year.
