Range Rover turned into pickup truck by Startech image

The German aftermarket specialists from Startech have recently turned a Range Rover into a pickup truck for the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show.

While Mercedes-Benz is announcing its first ever pickup truck for the end of the decade and BMW and Audi are keeping quiet at the moment regarding such plans, the German tuning company called Startech has taken things to a whole new level and transformed what is probably the best luxury SUV out there into a pickup truck. Don’t expect, however, to see such a model in a dealership nearby because it has been modified especially for the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show, which will be opening its gates in just a few days.

The newest creation to be signed by the tuning company is one of the world’s most exclusive pickup trucks and it has received a wide body kit which is made out of carbon fiber parts, along with the 23-inch forged wheels, finishing its exterior look, and other styling tweaks. The interior of the model has received a new upholstery which is mixing fine leather with Alcantara and it is also adding some carbon fiber elements. No less than 100 bodywork components have been made from aluminum, carbon fiber and steel in order to transform the SUV into a pickup and the plastic lined pickup bed is almost square, offering a length of 1,100 mm, with the tailgate closed, which can be operated remotely. Power is being provided by a 5.0 liter supercharged V8 engine, rated at 519 HP, allowing it to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.3s and an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
