A rare edition of the McLaren MP4-12C has been recently spotted in Florida, in a dealership, where it’s attracting a lot of curious eyes.
With the McLaren P1, the official successor of the iconic F1, getting ready to hit the market soon, the MP4-12C is starting to be forgotten, but when such a rare edition, of which just five units have been made, is being spotted in Florida, everyone remembers why this is a solid choice over a Ferrari 458 Italia or a Lamborghini Aventador. The model in question is known as the MP4-12C High Sport and it was unveiled back in May, 2012, as a limited edition.
The model can easily stand out from a crowd thanks to its red color scheme. As a quick reminder, the 2012 McLaren MP4-12C is powered by a 3.8 liter twin-turbo V8 engine which is producing a total output of 592 horsepower at 7.000 rpm and it has a peak torque of 443 lb-ft available between 3.000 and 7.000 rpm. The engine is allowing the British supercar to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.3 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 205 mph. The Corsa tire option cuts down 0.2 seconds from the 0 to 62 mph acceleration time and the supercar can do a quarter mile in 10.9 seconds at 134 mph. the model has been recently upgraded and it’s now producing 616 HP, from the same unit.
