The North American based automaker Chevrolet has announced a recall for the 2012 model year Sonic in Canada because of a problem with the windshield washer fluid hoses.
According to the car manufacturer, 7,161 units of the 2012 Chevrolet Sonic will have to be taken back to the dealers by their owners in Canada because of a problem with the windshield washer fluid hoses. Chevy says that the windshield washer hose can disconnect from the washer fluid reservoir and the wiper blades won’t have any access to fluid. If this happens, the driver can lose visibility and this might lead to an eventual crash.
The recall has just been announced today (August 22, 2012) by Transport Canada but it will most likely spread to the United States over the following days. The repair of the 2012 Chevrolet Sonic models will be carried out by the company’s dealer network free of charge and the recall is expected to begin in September. No reports of possible crashes or injuries related to the problem with the windshield washer fluid hoses have been received by the car manufacturer yet. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is expected to make the recall announcement in the U.S. over the following days.
