Chrysler has recently announced a recall for several Dodge Dart Mopar 13 special edition models, because of a problem with a side airbag, which may have “reduced function”.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a total of 421 unit of the 2013 Dodge Dart Mopar 13 Special Edition models will be affected by this recall and their owners will have to take a trip back to the dealers in order to get the problem with the side airbag fixed.
“The vehicles feature seating that is modified by an upfitter. Subsequent inspections revealed a restraint-system installation procedure had not been consistently followed, leaving some seat-mounted side airbags subject to reduced function”, as Chrysler recently said in a statement.
The North American based automaker isn’t aware of any injuries, accidents or complaints related to the recall and installation procedures have been updated. Only the 2013 model Dodge Darts with the Mopar 13 option packages will be affected by this recall and almost half are in dealer hands. The company’s dealerships will inspect the cars and make the necessary fixes / replacement free of charge. Owners of the model mentioned above can contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403 in order to find out more about this recall.
