The North American based automaker Ford has recently announced a recall for the 2013 Escape model because of a potential fire risk.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, owners of the 2013 Ford Escape will have to take one more trip back to the dealers and after just a few days ago the model was recalled for a problem with the carpet, the new issue is more dangerous.
The NHTSA is saying that approximately 11,500 units of the 2013 Ford Escape will be affected by this new recall and owners are advised not to drive them until repairs are complete.
The affected 2013 Ford Escape is equipped with the 1.6 liter four-cylinder engine and it was manufactured through July 11, 2012. Owners of the model in question should contact their local dealer in order to arrange a loaner car and schedule the repair of their 2013 Ford Escape.
The actual repair shouldn’t take more than an hour and it will be made free of charge. Ford says that no injuries have been related to this defect. Owners can contact Ford’s Customer Relationship Center at 866-436-7332. This is the second time when the 2013 Ford Escape is being recalled in just a few days.
