The North American based automaker Ford has recently announced a recall for the 2013 Focus ST and Focus EV models, because of a problem with their headlights.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a total of 6,308 units of the Ford Focus STs and Focus EVs will be affected by this recall and their owners will have to take a trip back to the dealers in order to get the problem with the headlights fixed. The NHTSA says that the affected vehicles are equipped with HID headlights and because of this issue they might be less visible at night, increasing the risk of a crash.
The Ford Focus EVs affected by this recall have been produced between September 15, 2011 and May 6, 2011, while the Ford Focus STs between February 16, 2012 and May 7, 2013. Owners of these cars will be notified by Ford and the recall will begin in mid-August. The company’s dealers will inspect the models and do the necessary repairs / replacements free of charge. For more details on this recall, owners can contact Ford at 1-866-436-7332.
