The North American based automotive giant, Chrysler Group LLC, has recently announced a recall for the 2013 RAM 1500 trucks because of a problem with the ESC module.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, certain 2013 RAM 1500 4×4 trucks will be affected by this recall and their owners will have to take a trip back to the dealers, because of a problem with the ESC module. The NHTSA says that the Electronic Stability Control system may be disabled when the vehicle is started and if this happens, there may result in a loss of directional control, increasing the risk of a crash.
The affected RAM 1500 4×4 trucks have been produced between June 26, 2012, and February 5, 2013. Owners of these models will be soon notified by Chryslers. The company’s dealers will update the ESC module software, free of charge. The recall should begin in August, 2013, but meanwhile, owners of the affected 2013 RAM 1500 trucks can contact Chrysler at 1-800-247-9753 or the NHTSA Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 in order to find out more about this recall.
