Acura has recently announced a recall for some of the 2014 MDX vehicles, because of the trailer-hitch accessory kit.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a total of 652 kits are being recalled and it’s believed that 340 of them have been fitted onto the luxury SUVs. Owners of the vehicles in question will have to take a trip back to the dealers because of the wire harness of the defective kits were incorrectly assembled during the production process and it may not power the kits’ brake controllers properly, increasing the risk of a crash and / or injury.
And speaking of crashes or injuries, Acura says that no reports have been received from owners, for the 2014 MDX, related to this problem. Owners of the 2014 Acura MDX SUVs will be notified by the carmaker on the recall and solution calls for dealers to repair the trailer-hitch harness. Owners will not be charged for the action.
