The new generation of the Subaru Forester has been recently recalled because of a problem with the floor mats.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a total of 10,137 units of the Subaru Forester have been recalled because of a problem with the floor mats, and their owners will have to take a trip back to the dealers in order to get the problem solved. An issue with the floor mats may not seem like a big deal but the NHTSA says that because of the heat exposure, some of them can curl and this could distract the driver or interfere in the pedals, increasing the risk of a crash / injury.
The affected Subaru Forester vehicles are from the 2014 model year and they have been produced between January 2013 and March 2013. A total of 10,137 units are the subject to this recall, which is expected to start sometimes next month (May). Owners will be notified these days and dealers will replace the four-piece floor mat set with new ones. Meanwhile, if you own a 2014 Subaru Forester and you have a question on the recall, you should contact the carmaker at 1-800-782-2783.
