BMW has recently announced a new recall affecting a lot of its models because of some potential problems with the brake power assistance.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has recently announced a new recall which is affecting most of the BMW models across the United States. According to the feds, there are a total of 8,988 units of the 3-Series, 4-Series, 5-Series, Z1, X3 and Z4 which will be affected by this recall and their owners will have to take a trip back to the dealers because of some problems with the brake power assistance.
In the affected cars, the vacuum pump could have insufficient lubrication leading to brake power assistance failure reading which will increase the risk of a crash. The affected cars include the BMW 320i Sedan from 2012-2014, the 328i Sedan and Sport Wagon from 2012-2014, the 428i from 2014, the 2012-2013 528i Sedan, the 2012-2014 X1 sDrive28i and xDrive28i, the X3 xDrive28i from 2013-2014 and the Z4 sDrive28i from 2012-2014. Owners of these vehicles will be notified by BMW and the necessary repairs / replacements will be made free of charge.
