The Chevrolet Spark is the subject of a new recall on the Old Continent because of some problems with its hood, which can open unexpectedly creating a dangerous situation.
After we have seen the Nissan Altima being recalled for some problems with its hood, time has come to talk about yet another car manufacturer which had to announce a recall for the same issue. We are talking about Chevrolet and its smallest vehicle ever, the Spark, which will have to be taken back to the dealers in all 223,815 units affected by this problem.
According to the North American based automaker, if the latch pivot will corrode, the secondary hoot latch’s strike can be stuck out of its position, which means that the bonnet will be shut improperly. If this happens, the hood can open unexpectedly which is a dangerous situation for the driver, and for other traffic participants, especially if the vehicle affected is driven at high speed. The affected Chevrolet Spark city cars which are suffering from this condition have been produced between 2009 to 2014. For any extra details on the subject, owners of these vehicles should contact their local Chevrolet representative.
