Coda Automotive has recently announced a recall for the all-electric Sedan models, because of a problem with the side curtain airbags.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a total of 117 units of the Coda Electric Sedan will be affected by this recall and their owners will have to take a trip back to the dealers in order to get the problem with the side curtain airbags fixed. The carmaker says that in the event of a crash, the side curtain airbag may not deploy, increasing the risk of injury.
“In the event of a crash necessitating side curtain airbag deployment, the side curtain airbags may fail to deploy as intended, increasing the risk of injury”, as Coda Automotive said in a statement on the NHTSA website.
This recall will affect 117 units of the Coda Electric Sedan, from the 2012 model year. This is the second recall issued by Coda Automotive, since it filed for bankruptcy back in May. It is unknown when the recall will begin so our advice is to contact Coda Automotive or the NHTSA if you own one of the vehicles mentioned above.
