The brand new and extremely powerful Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and Charger SRT Hellcat are the subject of a recall which has been announced the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recently.
FCA US LLC has recently announced the first recall for the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and for the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. According to the car company, the two models may encounter a possible fuel leak because of certain hoses which may have been installed improperly. Because of this condition, the chances of the vehicles catching fire have increased significantly.
“An FCA US dealer alerted the Company to a possible fuel leak following a pre-delivery vehicle inspection. These components had passed the supplier’s leak-testing, but FCA US engineers launched an investigation and discovered certain hose seals may have been improperly installed”, says the carmaker in its official press release.
FCA isn’t currently aware of any injuries, accidents or customer complaints, related to this condition. The total number of affected Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and Charger SRT Hellcat stands at 2,211 vehicle globally and the dealers will be replacing the fuel delivery components, which may leak. The affected cars are currently found in the United States, in 2,012 units, in Canada, in 148 units, in Mexico, in 30 units and outside the NAFTA region, in 21 units, and all of them are from the 2015 model year, equipped with the 6.2 liter V8 engines.
