Dodge has recently announced a recall for the Dart Mopar ’13 special edition because of a problem with the side airbags.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a total of 374 units of the Dodge Dart Mopar ’13 special edition will be affected by this recall and their owners will have to take a trip back to the dealers in order to get the problem with the side airbags fixed.
“In the affected vehicles, the front seat mounted side airbags (SAB) may not have been properly installed into the seat. In the event of a crash necessitating SAB deployment, the SABs may fail to deploy as intended, increasing the risk of injury”, as the NHTSA is saying.
The affected vehicles have been produced between the 10th of May, 2013, and the 24th of August, 2013. Owners of these cars will be notified by Chrysler and the company’s dealers will inspect the SAB installation and do the necessary fixes, free of charge. The recall is believed to begin this month (December, 2013). For more details on the Dodge Dart Mopar ’13 recall, owners can contact the NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236 or Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403.
