Fisker Automotive has recently announced its plans to recall all the units of the Karma plug-in hybrid sedan because of a problem with the cooling fan.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the new recall for the Fisker Karma will affect 2,400 units of the luxurious sedan and all owners of the above mentioned model will have to take a trip back to the dealers because of a flaw in the cooling fan. Fisker Automotive said in a statement that because of a fault in the fan in the front left corner, a slow-burning fire had begun in the vehicle in Woodside, California.
“This incident resulted from a single, faulty component. The car’s lithium-ion batteries, motor and other electric components weren’t the cause of the problem”, said Henrik Fisker in a statement.
Fisker Automotive will start notifying all owners of the Fisker Karma of its plans to replace the fan but this recall might be actually linked to the California fire and even to the Texas fire which took place last weekend. The recall is expected to begin sometimes next month.
