The Japanese based automaker Honda has recently announced a recall for some of the Fit models because of some electrical issues which can possible lead to a fire.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a total of 143, 083 units of the Honda Fit will be affected by this recall and their owners will have to take a trip back to the dealers because of some electrical issues. The NHTSA says that rain water or other liquids might enter through an open window onto the master power window switch and this might lead to smoke and a possible fire.
Owners of the Honda Fit will be contacted by the car company by mail starting in mid-July, 2013, and their vehicles will be inspected and fixed free of charge. Honda is advising owners of the affected Fit vehicles to park their vehicles outside until the cars will be fixed. The total 143,083 units are from the 2007 and 2008 model years and they have been sold in the United States. Owners of these models can contact Honda in order to find out more about the subject at 1-800-999-1009.
