Recall roundup: Hummer vehicles for fire problem image

It’s not something you hear about every day but it exists, however.

People going for Hummers often believe that these are indestructible but reality strikes hard with this one after the company has announced a recall. According to the automaker, owners of the Hummer H3 and the Hummer H3T, the pickup truck, will have to take a trip back to the dealers soon because of a problem which may lead to a potential fire. The issue is with the heating, cooling and ventilation systems of the models and this has been blamed for no less than 31 fires, which have been reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Another 11 reports have been received by General Motors and the total number of recalled vehicles stands at just below the 200,000 mark. The affected models are the 2006 to 2010 model year Hummer H3 along with the 2009 and 2010 model year Hummer H3T. The total examples affected are 196,379 and their owners should wait for an official notification and then head over to their local dealership in order to get the problem solved. Three vehicle fires have injured three people so is an issue which shouldn’t be ignored. A service appointment hasn’t been published at this time. For any extra details on the topic, owners of the above mentioned models should contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 1 888 327 4236.
