The South Korean based automaker Hyundai has recently announced a recall for the Santa Fe Sport vehicles, because of a problem with the right front axle shaft.
After announcing a recall for models like the Sonata and the Azera just earlier today, the carmaker is now telling us about some problems which the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport has. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, approximately 20,000 units of the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport will be affected by this recall and their owners will have to take a trip back to the dealers because of a problem with the right front axle shaft.
The NHTSA says that the front axle shaft in the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport may develop a crack which might lead to a separation of the shaft, increasing the risk of a crash and injury. The company’s dealers will replace the right side axle shaft free of charge. The affected vehicles are from the 2013 model year and they have been equipped with the 2.4 liter four-cylinder engine and front-wheel drive. Owners of these models can find out more on the subject by contacting Hyundai or the NHTSA’s hotline.
