Ford’s luxury brand Lincoln has recently announced a recall for the MKZ Hybrid, because of some transmissions issues with the model.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says that the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid is the subject to a recall due to an issue with its transmission. According to the feds, owners of the 2013 – 2014 Lincoln MKZ will have to take a trip back to the dealers because of the gearbox which can shift out of the Park position without the brake pedal being depressed. This can increase the risk of a crash and / or injury.
Owners of the 2013 – 2014 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid are currently being notified by the North American based automaker and the company’s dealership network will updated the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) with a new software, free of charge. The affected Lincoln MKZ Hybrids have been produced between the 26th of April, 2012, until the 24th of September, 2013. A total of 7,153 vehicles will be affected by this recall. For any extra details on the 2013 – 2014 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid recall, owners of the cars can contact the company at 1-866-436-7332 or the NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236.
