The Japanese based automaker Mitsubishi is currently recalling certain 2013 model year Outlander Sport crossovers, for a potential suspension issue.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a total of 305 units of the 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport crossovers will be affected by this recall and their owners will have to take a trip back to the dealers in order to get the suspension system issue solved. The NHTSA says that the stabilizer link on the front strut was improperly welded and the link may detach, causing damage to the tire and brake the hose. If this happens, the risk of a crash and / or injury will significantly increase.
The affected 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport vehicle have been produced between the 17th of January 2013 and the 25th of January 2013. Owners of the crossovers will be notified by the carmaker and the company’s dealers will inspect and replace the front left strut assemble if necessary, at no cost. The recall is expected to begin in August but in the meantime, if you own such a vehicle, you should contact MMNA at 1-888-648-7820 or the NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236 in order to find out more about the subject.
