Mitsubishi has issued a recall for the new Outlander generation because of a problem with the steering systems.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there are a total of 203 units of the Mitsubishi Outlander which have been affected by a problem with the steering. The NHTSA is saying that the models equipped with the 6-speed automatic transmission may develop a fluid leak from the power steering system which can cause the power steering assistance loss. Mitsubishi Motors North America has told safety regulators that it is unaware of any crashed or injuries which are related to this problem.
The affected Mitsubishi Outlander vehicles have been produced from the 3rd of September, 2012, and the 29th of March, 2013. Owners of these models will be notified by the car manufacturer on the recall and the necessary repairs will be made free of charge. The recall is expected to begin over the next few weeks. Owners of the affected vehicles can contact the Mitsubishi customer service center at 1-888-648-7820 in order to find out more details on the recall or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration hot line at 1-888-327-4236.
