The Japanese based automaker Mitsubishi has recently announced a recall for some of the Outlander Sport vehicles, because of a problem with their panoramic glass roof.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a total of 3,181 units of the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport vehicles will be affected by this recall and their owners will have to take a trip back to the dealers in order to get the problem with the panoramic glass roof fixed.
“Without primer being used, the panoramic glass roof may have reduced adhesion, possibly allowing the glass roof to detach from the vehicle, resulting in a road hazard to other vehicles”, as the NHTSA is saying in its official press release.
The affected vehicles have been produced between August 26, 2010, and March 29, 2011. The company’s dealers will inspect the panoramic glass to see if primer was installed. Owners of the vehicles will be notified by MMNA (Mitsubishi Motors North America) soon but a notification schedule hasn’t been provided just yet. Meanwhile, if you own one of the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport models mentioned above, you can find out more about this recall by contacting the carmaker at 1-888-648-7820, or the NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236.
