The new generation of the Volvo XC90 is the subject of a recall which has been announced recently by the Swedish based automaker.
The 2016 Volvo XC90 is better than its predecessor in every chapter, it is better looking, it has a more spacious cabin, extra technologies, more safety features and the list can go on. But just like it happens to almost every vehicle out there, the new generation of the popular SUV is now the subject of a recall which has been announced because of the “potential issue with an electronic wire harness which controls parts of the restraints system in the car”.
Because of this issue, certain 2016 Volvo XC90 customer cars have been affected but an exact number is now known at this time. However, owners of these models will have to take them back to the dealers which will inspect them and make the necessary repairs / replacements, free of charge. If ignored, the issue may increase the risk of injury or even death as the condition may damage the wire harness and lead to the malfunction of the front seat side airbags. In case of a crash, these will not deploy. The affected Volvo XC90s are found in the United States and in Europe and owners of these models should contact their local Volvo dealership in order to find out more about the recall.
