The Japanese based automaker Nissan has recently announced a recall for the Frontier, Pathfinder and Xterra because of a problem with the front wheel hubs.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 2, 417 units of the Nissan Frontier, Nissan Pathfinder and Nissan Xterra will be affected by this recall and their owners will have to take a trip back to the dealers because of a problem with the front wheel hubs.
“Nissan is recalling certain model year 2012 Frontier, Pathfinder, and Xterra two-wheel drive vehicles manufactured from June 19, 2012, through July 12, 2012. These vehicles may have been equipped with front wheel hubs that may not meet the design hardness specifications. A wheel hub that was manufactured below hardness specification may wear prematurely and eventually crack”, as the NHTSA is saying in its recalls summary of the problem.
A number of 2,417 units of the above mentioned models will be affected by this recall and owners will be notified by Nissan. The company’s dealers will replace the left and right side front wheel hub assemblies at no cost for the owner. The recall is expected to begin on the 8th of October, this year.
