Nissan has issued a recall for several Murano SUVs which have an issue with the ABS actuators.
According to the car manufacturer’s US branch, there are a total of 9,614 units of the Nissan Murano which will be affected by this recall. In the particular vehicles there is a problem with the ABS actuators which may have contamination in the solenoid valves and this may affect the stability and increase the risk of a crash.
“These vehicles are equipped with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) actuators which may have contamination in the solenoid valves, potentially affecting the valves’ ability to completely close and allow a build up of hydraulic brake pressure, or fully open and allow the hydraulic brake pressure to completely drop”, says the NHTSA in its recall summary of the problem.
The affected vehicles are from the 2015 model year and they have been produced between the 4th of December, 2014, and the 17th of March, 2015. The company’s dealers will be inspecting and replacing the ABS actuators, if necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to being in early August, 2015.
