Nissan has announced a recall which is affecting several models of the Rogue, the Pathfinder and the Infiniti QX60 because of a problem with the loose lug nuts.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there are a total of 334 units of the Nissan Rogue, Pathfinder and the Infiniti QX60 which will be affected by this recall. Owners of such vehicles will have to take a trip back to the dealers in order to fix the problem.
“The right side wheels of the affected vehicles may have one lug nut each that was not properly tightened. If the lug nut becomes loose from not being properly tightened, it may fall off, allowing the other lug nuts to become loose, possibly resulting in a wheel separation, and increasing the risk of a crash”, says the NHTSA in its official press release.
The affected vehicles are from the 2014 model year, being produced between the 7th of March and the 10th of March this year. Owners will be notified by Nissan and the company’s dealers will inspect and tighten the loose nuts to the correct specification. The action will be made free of charge. For extra details on the recall, owners can contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261 or the NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236.
