Volkswagen has announced a recall affecting models powered by the 1.8 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
The German based automaker Volkswagen has recently announced a recall for the 1.8 liter turbocharged powered vehicles. The models in question include the Jetta, Passat, Beetle and Beetle Convertible, for a total of 26,452 units.
“Due to a supplier material change during the production of the transmission oil cooler, the O-ring seals in affected vehicles are out of specification. If the O-rings do not completely seal between the oil cooler and transmission, a fluid leak may result”, says the carmaker in its official press release.
The new Volkswagen recall is affecting the above mentioned models which have been produced between the 1st of February, 2014, and the 6th of April, 2014. Out of the 26,452 units, 1,655 are customer cars. The recall will begin soon as Volkswagen will replace the defective O-ring with a new one, free of charge. The carmaker says that no injuries or fires have been reported, related to this issue. All owners of these models will be announced on the recall and the company will instruct them to arrange a meeting with an authorized Volkswagen dealer.
