Red McLaren P1 was brought to Bahrain

The British based automaker McLaren has recently brought a unit of the P1 to Bahrain, where the model has been presented to VIPs on the International Circuit.

McLaren is trying to enter new markets and with one impressive supercar in development, the P1, attracting more customers to the brand is a “must”. A red unit of the McLaren P1 has been recently showcased on the Bahrain International Circuit during an event for VIPs, in an effort to promote the new supercar into the Middle East, where it’s rumored to become available.

The carmaker didn’t announce any more details on the P1 for the moment but we already know that the final production version of the model will make its public debut next month, during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The supercar is the successor of the iconic F1 and it will get the same 3.8 liter V8 engine under its hood as the MP4-12C or the 12C Spider, but the version used on the supercar will be tweaked in order to produce an extra 120 HP. Rumors are saying that the McLaren P1 will target the Bugatti Veyron in terms of top speed and it will be the fastest accelerating car in the world. More details on the P1 will be announced during the Swiss automotive event.
