Refreshed GMC Acadia going to Chicago Auto Show

The North American based automotive giant General Motors has officially announced that a refreshed version of the GMC Acadia will debut at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show.

After some rumors were saying just last year that General Motors might axe the Acadia from the GMC lineup, it seems that the model will get one more refresh before that rumor might or might not confirm, and according to the car manufacturer, the new GMC Acadia will be officially presented to the public at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show. The refreshed GMC Acadia is expected to come with redesigned front and rear fascias, the new IntelliLink voice-activated system, new touch-screen navigation and a slightly updated interior.

The new GMC Acadia is also expected to incorporate an updated version of the Lambda platform and the company’s new 3.6 liter V6 engine, which is developing a total output of 315 horsepower, might make its way under the SUV’s hood. Sadly this is all we’ve got for now on the refreshed GMC Acadia and we’ll have to wait until the new model will debut at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show, when the carmaker is expected to release more details on it. As a reminder, the GMC Acadia has been in production since 2006 and the crossover is sharing the GM Lambda platform with other models.
