The Renault Captur has been named the 2014 Car of the Year in Romania by the Romanian Associated Automotive Press, with a total score of 155 points.
The new Renault Captur is a successful model on the Old Continent and this is backed up by a new award received by the company for its small crossover, the 2014 Romanian Car of the Year. The decision was taken after the jury has voted the Captur better in almost every chapter and the French crossover has managed to be beat models like the Mazda3, Toyota Auris, Nissan Note, Opel Adam, Hyundai i10, Ford Kuga, Chevrolet Traxk, Peugeot 308 and Skoda Octavia.
“We are honored by the title that the Renault Captur has managed to obtain, given the presence of strong competitors in the competition. We would like to thank APAR for organizing this competition for fifteen years and we would also like to thank Romanian customers, without whom we could not win this award”, said Renault Romania’s Marketing Director, Mihai Bordeanu.
The Renault Captur has been officially presented to the public, in its production form, during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The model in question is currently being assembled in Valladolid, Spain, and it’s offered in a five-door body style, with a front engine and a front-wheel drive layout. The Captur is riding on the Renault/Nissan B platform and it’s offered with a choice of two petrol engines, a 0.9L and a 1.2L and a 1.5L dCi diesel unit.
