An RS version of the Renault Captur isn’t coming anytime soon, but that doesn’t mean that the model has absolutely no chance of hitting the production line.
According to a recent report made by GoAuto, a Renaultsport version of the Renault Captur isn’t planned just yet so people who are looking for a B-segment crossover with enough power to tackle a paved mountain road can still order a Nissan Juke Nismo. But that doesn’t mean that the French based automaker has absolutely no plans of putting the Renault Captur RS into production. The company probably wants to see how well the Captur is being received before thinking of a more exciting version.
When it will finally make its way into production, the Renault Captur RS will follow the same path as its brother, the Nissan Juke Nismo, and it’s expected to pack approximately 200 HP from the same engine found under the hood of the new Clio RS. The Renaultsport Captur will get an electronic differential, a firmer suspension system, better brakes and more. Top speed might stand at just over 200 km/h and the model is expected to get the new EDC transmission.
