Renault is considering an RS version of the Captur which might hit the market sooner than you would expect it.
After it was officially presented to the public, in a premiere, during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, the final production version of the Renault Captur is ending up in our news once again, this time with a rumor, which is saying that the model might receive a Renaultsport variant. According to the guys at Caradisiac.com, the Renault Captur RS might be previewed during the Goodwood Festival of Speed, in July, and then unveiled during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, in September.
The Renault Captur RS is expected to follow the same path as its “brother” the Nissan Juke Nismo, and the model is expected to pack approximately 200 HP, possibly from the same engine found on the new Clio RS. The Renaultsport Captur will receive a firmer suspension system too, an electronic differential, better brakes and more. Top speed might stand at over 200 km and the EDC dual-clutch transmission will play a main role in its performance. Unfortunately we don’t have any more details on the Renault Captur RS for the moment and the model might become official in a few months, during the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
