The first patent images with the Renault Captur, or the so-called Clio-based SUV, have recently hit the web.
The Renault Clio-based SUV has started its public life a few months ago as a simple rumor and now, after being spied a couple of times, is ending up in our news once again, this time with the help of some patent images, which have hit the web. The Renault Captur is a slightly raised version of the Clio IV and this means that it will probably share the same engine range as the hatchback, including the TCe 90, the 1.2 HP, the 1.5 liter dCi diesel in 75 HP and 90 HP and the 1.2 liter turbo with 120 HP.
The all-wheel drive system will be offered as an option on higher trim levels and the transmission choices will include a five-speed manual and a six-speed EDC double clutch. The Renault Clio crossover will go on sale against models like the segment leader, the Nissan Juke, the all-new Opel / Vauxhall Mokka, the Peugeot 2008 or the Ford EcoSport. Additional details on the model are limited for the moment and will be announced during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, where the Renault Captur is expected to make its public debut.
