The French automaker has put to rest media speculations regarding its October Paris Motor Show line-up, see moving to officially confirm it will bring the next generation of the acclaimed Espace van and the Dacia Lodgy and Dokker Stepway variants.
The fifth-generation of the large MPV, case credited with the European introduction of the van segment, has been already previewed by the unconventional Initiale Paris and has been leaked on numerous occasions. The Espace is ready for its world premiere on October 2 during the first press day of the Mondial de l’Automobile. The new generation has been developed on the new CFM1 modular platform – and will also mark the first apparition of the Initiale Paris luxury trim that should then become a common sight on many Renault models. The engines under the hood should come in a wide variety of economical turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline and diesel versions.
The budget oriented Dacia brand, a marquee that has seen a spectacular jump in European sales after the economic crisis, will also have a host of new introductions – with the brand expanding the Stepway model line-up. The Lodgy and Dokker versions will follow the Sandero htachback derivative and feature a more rugged appearance, complete with additional plastic body cladding, a higher suspension setup and bigger rims.
