Renault will be offering the EDC double clutch transmission for the Duster in India.
Europeans have been looking forward to an automatic version of the budget SUV, the Dacia Duster, for quite a few years now, but it seems that Renault will be offering it, at this time, in India. According to the local media, the model in question will be offered with the EDC double clutch transmission on the facelifted variant later on this year. This will be coming with a 6-speed automatic on the two-wheel drive 1.5 dCi diesel version. On the Indian market, the Duster is available with the 1.6 liter petrol burner too, while in Europe, customers can get the 1.2 liter petrol turbo, with 125 HP.
The Dacia Duster, which is also known as the Renault Duster or the Nissan Terrano, has been in production since 2010 and it is currently being put together in Romania, in Russia, India, Indonesia, Brazil and Colombia. It has been launched during the 2010 Geneva Motor Show and it is the third model based on the same platform as the Logan, after the Sandero. The model has been designed by Renault Design Central Europe and it is being offered in a five-door body style, with a front-engine and front-wheel / four-wheel drive layout. It stands at 4,315 mm long, 1,822 mm wide and 1,630 – 1,690 mm tall, weighing up to 1,294 kg. It has a 1.2L turbo petrol, a 1.6 liter petrol, a 1.6 liter LPG, a 2.0 liter petrol and a 1.5 liter diesel, in various markets.
