The French based automaker Renault has recently announced that the Duster SUV is getting a new petrol engine along with a new automatic transmission.
After the Duster has been placed into the spotlights just a few days ago, with the automaker announcing its United Kingdom launch for early 2013, the car manufacturer has recently highlighted the model once again, this time by announcing a new engine and automatic transmission which will make its way into the lineup. According to Renault, the Duster SUV will get a new 2.0 liter four-cylinder 16 valve petrol engine, which will generate a total output of 135 horsepower and offer a peak torque of 195 Nm, mated to a new automatic transmission.
Renault is also saying that the Duster SUV will only be available in this configuration in Russia and the car manufacturer is probably testing this version over there before deciding on whether to launch it in Europe and eventually on other markets too. There is no official word yet on whether the Renault Duster, with the 2.0 liter engine and automatic transmission, will go to Romania anytime soon, where the vehicle is being sold as the Dacia Duster, so we will just have to wait and see what the automaker is planning.
