Renault introduces Megane Estate just in time for world premiere during Geneva Motor Show image

The French automaker has revealed the more practical Megane Estate in the first official pictures prior to the official worldwide public introduction taking place next week during the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

The new generation Megane has already hit dealerships on the Old Continent and the automaker is looking to keep things on the right line by adding another member to the family – the very practical, yet fashionable Estate station wagon version. The Swiss event will also feature the presentation of the French automaker’s flagship Megane Estate GT version. The company has kept many details under wraps, only commenting on the release that their Megane Estate will be the first to premiere in the C-segment estate a 4CONTROL four-wheel steering that comes with “precise, dynamic handling on twisty roads” and also packs “genuine driving pleasure.” The regular version will combine dynamism and style thanks to the chrome trim around the side windows and C-pillar, as well as matte-finish anodised aluminium roof bars (Dark Metal Color on GT version). There’s also a bespoke C-shaped lighting signature at the front.

Meanwhile the Estate GT comes with unique front bumper, honeycomb mesh on the radiator grilles and a wide lower air inlet flanked by two air-scoops. Rounding up the changes out in the back we can see a chromed exhaust tail pipe and a sculpted diffuser. Technical details have been kept under wraps for now, but we’re not expecting any surprises and hence we’ll get the same engine range as seen on the hatchback: gasoline TCe 100, 130, and 205 (GT) and diesel dCi 90, 110, 130.
