We’re still waiting in Europe for the smallesy and cutesy Kwid crossover to adorn the Dacia branding, and in the meantime we can fashionably savor the sporty Extreme prototype.
The Renault Kwid has proven itself to be quite successful in Asia and other parts of the world where it’s actually on offer, so the French automaker is naturally catering to fans by proposing a completely different take on the little CUV. The Extreme concept has been officially unveiled at the ongoing Indonesian International Auto Show – packing a sporty body kit and large wheels to suggest it could be the next project for the Renault Sport team once they wrap up the Megane RS development.
Renault has indeed gone to extremes with this concept – new front end with red highlights and prominent LEDs, LED highlights around the headlights, wide fenders, huge side sills, and an aggressive set of OZ wheels. At the back the styling is complete with fake air vents, massive diffuser and huge wing adorning the roof. Unfortunately, the interior does have the sporty traits whereas the powertrain setup has remained unchanged – 1.0 SCe engine with 68 hp and a five-speed manual gearbox are the sole options in Asia.
