Renault is planning to introduce the Lodgy to India in early 2015, where the MPV is expected to be sold in 35,000 units annually.
After it was officially presented to the public back in 2012, during the Geneva Motor Show, and then launched in several markets across the Old Continent, the Dacia Lodgy is ending up in our news once again, this time with a rumor, which is saying that the model will be launched in India in early 2015, with the Renault badges all over its body. The new Renault Lodgy should be unveiled in 2014 at the New Delhi Auto Expo and then in a few months, the model will become available at dealerships across the country.
“We will take the direction of where the market is going, right now the market is moving to SUV and you look at our performance. MPV will see a huge trend and Renault will have to find a solution to go wisely and also find out what is best in our DNA to go into small cars”, said the Renault India managing director, Sayc Marc Nassif.
The Renault Lodgy is expected to arrive in India in the same configurations as the Dacia Lodgy in Europe, with a 1.2 liter turbocharged petrol engine under its hood, producing 115 GP, along with the 1.6 liter with 85 HP and a 1.5 with liter dCi in two diesel outputs, with 90 HP and with 110HP. More details on the Indian Renault Lodgy are limited for the moment and will be announced close to its launch.
