A new Renault Koleos generation is planned by the French based automaker which will replace the current version.
Renault will be introducing a new Renault Koleos in the future as there is enough need on the market for it. The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet and it is currently part of a report, which is stating that the new Koleos will be placed into the D segment, in order to make room for the recently unveiled Kadjar, which is aimed towards the C segment.
The Renault Kadjar has about the same size as the Koleos, standing in at 4,45 meters in length compared to 4,52 meters in length and the new larger crossover will be approximately 5 meters long and it will be capable of accommodating a third row of seats. This vehicle is believed to be riding on an extended version of the CMF platform, which has been also used on the Nissan Qashqai, on the X-Trail and on the Renault Kadjar.
The second-generation Renault Koleos is believed to be offered for sale sometimes in 2016 and it will be developed and produced in China, along with its smaller brother, the Kadjar. Rumor has it that the model will also be produced in South Korea, where it will be known as the Renault Samsung QM5. The current Koleos has been in production since 2007 and it is currently produced in South Korea, India and Russia, and it is offered on the C platform, shared with the X-Trail, Qashqai and Rogue. The model has a two engine lineup, the 2.0L dCi and the 2.5L 16V, connected to a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic or a CVT.
