The French based automaker Renault is still considering the development of an RS version of the popular Captur crossover.
The Renault Captur may have been unveiled quite some time ago but that doesn’t mean that it cannot receive any more versions and it seems that the company hasn’t dropped the RS version from its head. The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet but according to the guys from Car Advice, who have spoken to a senior executive from Renault, the model in question is still being debated and an official decision hasn’t been taken yet.
The car manufacturer is not sure whether the Captur RS will fit the Renault Sport image but if it will indeed hit the market than it will be similar to a Clio RS, because the company is also modifying the chassis, the brakes, the steering, the suspension system and more besides adding the larger and more powerful engine. Chances are that the French based carmaker will take a decision on a Captur RS over the following months and the final production version of the model might make its way into the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, in spring. More details on the model remain unknown for the moment.
