The French automaker is preparing – alongside other brands in its portfolio – for the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in early March, and has decided to tease us to an EV surprise apparition.
Renault itself is going to display the European spec Koleos SUv and Alaskan pickup truck. Dacia is going to showcase the Logan MCV Stepway and the entire crossover-inspired Stepway line is getting the limited edition Summit treatment. The Alpine sports brand is also getting ready to showcase its first model since it has been revived – the A120 sports car. Meanwhile, the most important apparition for the Renault brand might be the facelifted Captur small SUV – or perhaps the spotlight will be stolen by the “EV surprise” they have prepared for the show.
There’s not much information to go about – it may be a production model or a never see it on the street concept in the same vein as the all-electric Trezor that was seen last fall during the Paris Motor Show. Last year Renault announced plans to deliver a new series-production “affordable EV”. As far as electric plans go, Renault has so far updated the Zoe ZE with a new 41-kWh battery pack for 400 kms of range and also established a full commercial EV lineup that starts with the Twizy and ends up with the Master van.
