The French based automaker Renault has recently released a first teaser image for a brand new model, which is supposedly capable of lapping the Nurburgring in less than 8 minutes.
Over the years, Renault has hold on to the Nurburgring title for the fastest front-wheel drive production car and now the company is announcing yet another vehicle, which is said to be even faster. The model in question has been recently teased, for the very first time, and it will be officially unveiled on the 16th of June. The teaser image posted above is revealing absolutely nothing except that this will be a Renault Sport and it will be able to lap the Ring in under 8-min.
We know that this time doesn’t sound that fast when comparing it to the new hybrid supercars such as the Porsche 918 Spyder or the McLaren P1, but chances are this will actually be faster than the Seat Leon Cupra 280, which has recently set out a new front-wheel drive Nurburgring lap record, with its 7 minutes and 58.4 seconds. The new Renault model will most likely be an upgraded Megane RS, which will eventually go on sale, as a limited edition. More details on the vehicle are limited for the moment.
