The French based automaker Renault is planning to develop a new low-cost vehicle which will go on sale against the Tata Nano in India and in other emerging markets.
The new model will be produced by Renault along with its partner Nissan and it should hit the market over the following years but this isn’t the only new car to see daylight at a low price and the two companies are also planning to produce a new model, which will be priced at approximately 5,000 euros (6,400 USD). This is expected to go on sale in late 2014 and to be a slap on Dacia’s face with its cheap cars, like the new Logan, Sandero and Sandero Stepway.
According to Latribune.fr, Renault will also produce a rival for the popular Tata Nano in India which is expected to be priced at just 3,000 euros. The model will be launched in India and probably in other emerging markets, but don’t get your hopes too high because it won’t become available in Europe because it won’t meet the safety standards. Additional details on the Renault Tata Nano rival are limited for the moment and will probably be announced close to the model’s presentation.
