Renault Zoe to enter mass production image

The French based automaker Renault has recently announced its plans to put the Zoe model in mass production in order to launch it in 2013.

Renault is currently complaining that its electric vehicles are selling slow and the Zoe is probably the company’s last attempt to save something in the electric segment, considering the fact that people would rather have herpes than the Twizy. The carmaker says that the Zoe will enter mass production in order to start its first deliveries in 2013. The Renault Zoe is getting a synchronous electric motor with 88 HP (65 kW) and 220 Nm of torque (162 lb-ft), being able to reach a top speed of 84 mph. Prices for the model in the United Kingdom have been set at 14,444 GBP.

The newest electric vehicle in Renault’s lineup, the Zoe, will get features such as an R-Link multimedia tablet, automatic climate control, battery charger and more. Renault says that the R-Link multimedia tablet will have a 7-inch touchscreen display with speech recognition and it will control several key functions including the audio system, the electric vehicle driving guidance and the Carminat TomTom Live navigation system.
