Dacia has announced that it has sold its 4 millionth model, an achievement reached in quite a short time-frame.
The Renault-owned Romanian budget brand Dacia has evolved quite a bit in recent years and has been growing stronger with every year since its rebirth in 2004. Many global automakers have been looking with some considerable envy towards Renault for this success. Dacia has now reached an important milestone in its rather young history, as it has just overpassed the 4,000,000 sale-mark worldwide. The milestone was celebrated with Dacia community at the 8th edition of its annual picnic on Sunday at Domaine de Courson in France, where over 11,000 people attended to the event.
In 2015, Dacia reported a new sales record, hitting 550,920 units, up 7.7 percent more than a year earlier. Europe is the brand’s top region, with about three quarters of the cars sold by Dacia in 2015 being registered on the markets of the Old Continent. France is Dacia’s first export destination, with a market share that puts it on 5th, right after Volkswagen’s core brand, with Spain ranking 2nd, followed by Germany.
Dacia is getting ready to update its core models, Duster sport utility vehicle, Logan sedan and Sandero hatchback. If the SUV is set to soon change its generation, the facelifts of Logan and Sandero will be presented in front of the worldwide audience during the Paris Motor Show this coming fall.
