The Renaultsport division within the French automaker is giving the Clio hot hatch a touch of exclusivity by releasing a limited edition of the vehicle, under the Renaultsport Clio 200 Raider name, announcing that only 50 models will be produced for the UK.
According to the manufacturer, the Raided comes in with matt paintwork but customers can chose between Stealth Grey or Diavolo Red, which will be contrasted by the black finished roof, rear spoiler, rear diffuser, F1-style front splitter and the door mirrors. Let’s not forget the wheels which are also black, and they will be 18 inch Interlagos alloys, wrapped in Bridgestone RE 050A tires, the same as the ones used on the iconic Megane Renaultsport 265 Trophy.
Renault says that the interior has been slightly modified too, being now fitted with Recaro seats, new white rev counter and a numbered plaque to signify the Raider’s place in the production run. Customers will also have to choose, at no cost, between the Renaultsport Monitor, a digital 0-62 mph, ¼ mile lap timer plus G meter, or the integrated TomTom navigation system.
The Renaultsport Clio 200 Raider can be ordered at the end of October when the prices will be officially announced, but the hot-hatch is expected to cost more than £20.000, which will make it the most expensive Clio since the V6 left the production line back in 2005.
